Mast Cell Activation Disorder

In this episode we discuss Mast cell activation disorder (MCAD) with Tara Notrica from New York.  MCAD is an immunological condition in which mast cells inappropriately and excessively release chemical mediators, resulting in a range of chronic symptoms, sometimes including anaphylaxis or near-anaphylaxis attacks.

More About Our Guest

Tara Notric is a few days shy of 55 years old.  (Happy Birthday Tara!) She, her husband Barry, and two children Jared and Samantha, reside in New York.  She is a retired Special Education Teacher.

She is a 'Mast Cell Warrior'  having had both an autologous stem cell and allogeneic bone marrow transplant, she is a survivor for Mast Cell Disease. She spent five years searching for a proper diagnosis after becoming gravely
ill over many years.  She has been advocating to increase awareness levels about Mast Cell Disease, Bone Marrow Transplantation and NYS legislation related to school bus transportation. My story is being made into a documentary called
“Second Chance” which will hopefully be released in 2020. I can’t wait to share my story with the world❤️
