Who We Are

Together we have 60 + combined years of successfully navigating various medical fields, including the Veteran's Administration (VA)

OUR TEAM:

Lita Tomas

Co-Host/ Creator/ Visionary.

Lita’s a petite lady with a boisterous laugh!

She has worn many hats:

Retired Army tank mechanic, turned global logistics manager.

Masters in Recreational therapy.

Caregiver.

Mother & Nana.

She is caring, and accepting of all people and likes to undertake random acts of kindness.

Her brilliance is only slightly tarnished by Early Onset Alzheimer's disease.

CORRECTION!! After a 5 hour Neuro-Psychiatry test we are now blaming her severe memory loss on Complex PTSD!  This is fantastic news since THAT is curable right now!  The required therapy will be long and difficult, but only the best things in life are difficult to attain.

Jean Marie McNamara

Co-host/ Segment Producer/ Optimistic Curmudgeon.

 Jean Marie is Lita’s daughter.

(Lita roped Jean Marie into helping with this podcast.)

When she’s not searching for the perfect cup of hot chocolate, she can be found

researching obscure facts.   Jean has a knack for research.

A retired military officer, whose only battle has been with depression.

Her wry sense of humor has been bolstered by bureaucracy.

Ron Rispoli

 Co-host/ Researcher/ Underwater Archer.

Ron attended graduate school at Aurora University with Lita many, many moons ago

where he earned his MS in Recreation. He is also a Certified Therapeutic Recreation

 Specialist (CTRS).

Ron acquired his disability after being hit by a car almost 50 years ago.

His right arm was paralyzed due to the accident. Since completing graduate school,

Ron has spent the last 20+ years helping people with disabilities. He currently works as a Case Manager for young adults with severe physical disabilities as they transition from school to adult life. He's also a board member for Diveheart Foundation, a non profit organization that provides adapted scuba diving to children, adults and veterans with disabilities. He also volunteers with Dreams For Kids, another non profit organization that helps disadvantaged youth. In his spare time Ron enjoys scuba diving, golf and archery as he assists in raising his two teenage children (what spare time?)

Ron is the more serious member of our team.

Sean Murphy

Technical Director/ SEO / Male Model.

Sean is the Podcast's SEO. He keeps our website visible on the Internet and keeps us free of malware attacks.

(He's known for his technical prowess and his James Bond look.)

Dom Cimino

Dominic J. Cimino is an audio engineer from the Chicago suburbs. Graduated from Tribeca Flashpoint Media Arts Academy, he focused on music recording and live event production. Although focusing on the music end of recording, he worked on multiple location shoots including a North Coast Documentary and continues to do so when given the opportunity. Dominic's passion for audio was sparked in his home studio, where he recorded vocals for local artists and friends as a hobby. Pursuing his dream, he then was in search of professional standards and industry work, which led him to Tribeca Flashpoint. Today he utilizes his creativity and applies his growing knowledge of audio tools accordingly and effectively to create a pristine sound.

He doubled as our Audio Editor for the first 9 episodes merging tracks and producing finished audio products to upload to iTunes.

Jack Scaro Audio Consultant/ Audio Editor

Jack is a recent college graduate residing in Elmhurst, Illinois.

He majored in Music Therapy, completing his first year at Columbia College, Chicago and his B.A. from U of I at Champaign/Urbana.

Jack is a skilled audio editor!  He has already successfully edited all of our episodes since  Season 1 Episode 10.

We are looking forward to adding his skills as a Music Therapist, as he gains knowledge in his chosen field of study!

Buddy Boy crossed the rainbow bridge June 5, 2020 we will hold him in our hearts and minds forever.

Gigi Girl had a new assistant, Rigsby- a Chihuahua mix rescue from the Oklahoma tornados of 2013.  Unfortunately We lost Rigsby to kidney disease Jan 8, 2022.

We were lucky to find Charlie, a Basenji at a local rescue and adopted him into the family January 28th of 2022.

Unfortunately GiGi also crossed the rainbow bridge Feb 1st 2023.  She is sorely missed and now we are giving Charlie extra hugs now that he is the lone-dog in our family.

What We Do

PodcastDX is an interview based weekly series. Guests share experience based medical insight for our global audience.

Many Americans turn to friends and family for support and advice when they have a health problem. Since people’s networks are expanding to include online peers, particularly in the crucible of rare disease, we decided to implement a podcast series to interview and discuss various diagnoses with actual patients. Health professionals remain the central source of information for most Americans, but “peer-to-peer healthcare” is a significant supplement.
